TRAVEL NOTES
A recent visitor to ZANZIBAR reports that the Blue Bay Beach Hotel is one of the better hotels to stay in on the island. A number of hotels have been closed due to security warnings by some European countries. Nevertheless, reports on the tourism potential of Zanzibar are encouraging. More investment is required for example in the upgrading of the local airport. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has declared Stonetown a World Heritage site.
